Estuary Tours are done throughout the bays, lagoons, bayous, sounds, rivers, creeks and passes that are plentiful in Southwest Florida.

We do these tours from Pine Island Sound, near Charlotte Harbor, to Rookery Bay, near Marco Island. In the Estuaries we see many of the 300 species of birds that we have in the area, frequently see dolphin and sometimes see manatees.

Your guide will often find little critters that live on the bottom and explain who they are and how they function.  We also talk about our native Americans, the Calusa, who thrived in the estuaries for 1000s of years.

Some discussion is made on the ecology of the estuaries and about the importance of the mangrove trees.

We visit the estuary of Estero Bay - The state's first Aquatic Preserve (established in 1966) near Lover's Key State Park, seeing many of the 300 species of birds in the area, learning about the ecology of the estuary and getting to know the critters that we find on the bottom.  You will learn some history of our native Calusa that thrived here for 1000's of years.  We frequently see dolphin and sometimes see manatee.

We also do an Estuary Tour in the Cocohatchee River/Wiggins Pass Estuary in North Naples.  A beautiful riverine/estuarine environment with lots of wildlife which is a beautiful part of our huge mangrove forest that extends north all the way to the Sarasota area.

2 hours on the water.

Another Estuary tour is The Mangrove Tunnels of Matlacha Pass - join us in the otherworldly pleasures of a visit to the Mangrove Tunnels of Matlacha Pass, one of the most intriguing areas of the world.  Mangrove tunnels are considered Nature's Cathedrals

See birds, fish, dolphin, manatee and maybe an elusive otter

3 to 4 hours on the water
